Yesterday, 21st February, Prof. Charles Igwe – Vice chancellor of the University of Nigeria Nsukka, received Her Excellency, Dr. Hajo Sani, who led a delegation of the Governing Board of the International Centre for Biotechnology, a UNESCO Category II Centre in Nsukka, Nigeria. The Meeting with the management of the University reviewed the outcomes of the 2nd meeting of the Board held on 7th July, 2022 at UNESCO Hq, Paris.
It also discussed other issues of mutual benefits, updates on the progress made on the programmes, the steps taken to address certain challenges and the wayforward. At the
Meeting others in attendence were Deputy Vice chancellor – Academic – Prof. Johnson Urama, Deputy Vice Chancellor – Administration, Prof. Patrick Okpoko, Chairman of the International Scientific Advisory Committee – Prof. Bartholomew Ndubuisi Okolo, Director, UNESCO International Centre for Biotechnology, Nsukka – Prof. Linus Opara, Secretary General of the Nigerian National Commission for UNESCO – Mr. Olagunju Idowu and a number of female and other members of the management team of the university.
Subsequently, H.E. Dr. Hajo Sani alongside other Delegates were taken on a visit to the facilities and current projects (physical, research, experiment, exchange…etc) at the Centre.
