Administrative/Secretarial Support Assistant
The Permanent Delegation of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to UNESCO seeks to employ the services of an Admin/Secretarial Support Assistant.
The successful candidate will provide administrative and secretarial support to officers at the Permanent Delegation and must be able to combine language and administrative skills to undertake a range of office tasks including:
- Work as main Programme Assistant to one of the Officers of the Delegation;
- Preparing routine correspondences, typing and formatting letters, reports, briefings and any other documents as assigned;
- Filing and classifying of administrative and other documents;
- Making and receiving telephone calls in English and French;
- Organizing meetings and events;
- Organizing travels and other reservations;
- Work collaboratively with other secretaries and administrative staff; and
- Any other administrative duties that may be assigned
Candidate Profile
- Excellent secretarial and office management skills
- Minimum typing speed of 65wpm with a good level of accuracy
- Fluency in French and English.
- Hardworking, focused, proactive and forward looking
- Highly organized individual with ability to prioritize effectively
- Must be able to work with minimum supervision
- Team focused and willingness to assist others
- Should possess relevant administration/office management qualifications
- First rate communication skills both oral and written
- Excellent punctuality and attendance record
- The ideal candidate must be under 40 years at the time of application
Working Experience
The ideal candidate must have at least 2 years’ experience in a similar position, preferably, in an Embassy, Permanent Delegation or an international /multicultural Organization; with strong experience and proven use of Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Spreadsheet, Outlook and other relevant computer applications.
Education
A minimum of advanced certificate or diploma in secretarial, administrative/office management or related studies; language training in one of the UN working languages will be an added advantage. Candidates will be requested to provide proof of proficiency in English and French.
