Photograph exhibition of “portraits of changemakers” on education of girls in Nigeria

H.E. Dr. Hajo Sani, Ambassador, Permanent Delegate of Nigeria to UNESCO, yesterday, 26th January, 2023, attended the inauguration of the photo exhibition of “portrait of changemakers” organized by Wallonie-Bruxelles International (WBI) in partnership with the Embassy of Nigeria, Belgium. The exhibition “advocates for the importance of girls’ and young women’s education, their continuity of learning and the need for continuous commitment to gender equality in and through education” and is one of the numerous efforts being made towards ensuring continued progress for girls’ education as part of UNESCO’s “keeping girls in the picture campaign.” 

The first edition was held last year on 11th October, 2022, in collaboration with the Permanent Delegation of Nigeria to UNESCO, on the occasion of the International Day of the Girl (IDG) and as part of UNESCO’s celebration.

The event was attended by H. E. Ambassador Obinna c. Onowu, Ambassador of Nigeria to Belgium, Ms. Pascale Delcomminette, General Administrator of Wallonia Brussels International, Ms Louise Haxthausen – Director of the UNESCO Liaison office in Brussels, and Maxime Woitrin – Deputy General Delegate, Permanent Representative of Belgium to UNESCO and OECD, as well as several others.

Her Excellency was in the company of Mrs. Edith Okoro, the Delegation Counsellor.
